inspiration to me, but helped bring me to a partial realization of what could be accomplished, even if I couldn't ever match his skill and expertise. Rocco's star is rising and will probably still be up there with Halley's when next it returns. Bill Wisch
"He's pure, naive and innocent, he's Rocco." "He's a mysterious dream maker, time slipped from Renaissance era if there is life before birth, I'm sure he was a Prince of the Roman Empire." "Graceful, elegant, aristocratic style, sensitive thoughtfulness." "I see his act as a mixture of new wave, new romantic magic. Aristocratic posh and dandy but not arrogant scent and the fragrance of medieval Europe that reminds me of a handsome calvary with respectable knighthood." "Dignity and knowing eyes. Ingenious. Brilliant." "Admiration for exquisite charm." "What is in your performance, it's passion, it's love, and it's emotional vibration. I was thunder struck every time you did a little trick, it was like some sort of aura or waves of emotions surging right through to my heart. You are the only magician who can establish a brand new concept of magic which is magic opera." "People fall in love with him." "Your eyes, your eyes enchant girls and hypnotize ladies." Marie Ikami

Plans for the Future |

I very much appreciate the honor best owed on me by the judges of the Desert Seminar. This is a dream come true - a fairy tale that has come to life. My plans for the future are to continue to work on my magic and uphold the high standards that have been set by the Magic Castle. I plan to continue to create and perform magic the rest of my life and I want to inspire all young up and coming magicians to fall in love with magic. It brings a nice reward. I plan to study acting and I want to play the role of Zorro. The movie, "Mark of Zorro" inspired my stage act. For anyone serious about the art of magic, I'd like to refer to the September, 1984 issue of Genii with Bill Wisch on the cover. In Vernon's column, "The Vernon Touch", he said, "A magic show is not merely a matter of telling people which card they selected or showing them how to link steel rings together. It is the whole show that counts and above all, the person who is presenting the show. The tricks count, of course, but the personality counts much more." He also said, "You should make love to the audience through your personality, music, props, patter, etc." I suggest that you look up that issue and read Vernon's long-term experience.

Magicians who ignore to follow this proven approach of success in magic run the risk of falling under the stereo type magician. If you look in the yellow pages, in my hometown under magician, it says see clowns also, and that's not cool. Today there is a fine line between magic being clowny or mystery oriented. There is nothing wrong with a clown doing a card trick or a linking ring routine. His personality is a clown. But for the serious, romantic. Mysterious magician you must set a completely new pattern. Keep the magic in magic. Decide what your visual effects will be. Analyze your whole look from props to costume. Your eyes should make love to your audience unless you really want to do birthday parties all your life.
